JM: What else would you want a friend or family member to know if they have a loved one going to this jail? Cesar: Stay in contact with them. It's hard in jail.
And
not knowing what's going on outside in the world
could drive one crazier. Tom: ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITIES FOR YOUR ACTIONS, LOOK AT
IT AS A TIME TO GROW IN THE WORD OF GOD, DO NOT
LOOK AT THE DEPUTIES AS YOUR ENEMIES, THERE ARE
MANY DIFFERENT WAYS FOR REACHING OUT TO SOMEONE,
AND SOMETHING RICKY RANDALL ONCE TOLD ME IS AFTER
YOU DO THE TIME FOR YOUR CRIME, YOU DON'T NEED ANY
ONE TO FORGIVE YOU, YOU DID THE TIME, NOW YOU HAVE
TO MOVE FORWARD.
JM: If somebody knows they will be serving time in this jail what is your advice to them? Cesar: Take this time to reflect. Pull yourself
together
and start taking steps to ensure you don't fall
in
the same nasty rut that put you there. Tom: THINK TWICE BEFORE FIRST ACTING ONCE, ITS NEVER
TOO LATE TO START AGAIN, WHEN I WAS RELEASED I
STILL DID NOT HAVE A PLACE TO GO BUT I SIGNED UP
FOR THE STATE PROGRAMS, AND NOW I HAVE A SMALL ONE
BEDROOM HOUSE 5 BLOCKS FROM THE COURT HOUSE, I WAS
ASKED TO DO JURY DUTY AND SERVED, THROUGH PRAYED
MAKE AMENDS TO THE ONES YOU HAVE BEEN NEGATIVE TOO
OVER YOUR LIFE, THERE WAS NOT ONE DAY THAT I DID
NOT WEEP AND PASS THROUGH THE GATE OF TEARS
9HEBREW, AND WHEN ON THE OUTSIDE IF YOU DO NOT
HAVE THE MONEY DO NOT TAKE IT. NEVER HESITATE TO
REACH OUT TO YOUR HIGHER POWER.
